I was told that I could use "Boge Turbo" shocks from a 911 instead of the Bilsteins for a 914 in the front, that the valving is identical, but the Boge's are about $50 cheaper per shock. Has anyone done this or heard of someone doing this? Is it true? If so, what year 911 Boge Turbos would I use. Your input is greatly appreciated.

Are the Boge Turbo's gas shocks or hydraulic? Yes, 911 shocks will fit in the 914 Strut. My understanding is that the valving is DIFFERENT for the two cars because of the weight difference. 914 2000# vs 911 2800# for early cars
