Drove down to Santa Barbara to watch some of the auto X. Pretty tight course, very narrow lanes. I think this guy had too much power for a parking lot race.

What's with the little mini black caliper in the 5 o'clock position? Tony I'm gonna guess parking brake, but cant tell what model car it is on Jim CGT. you can just see the top of it behind the ford gt. the rotor also looks like a ceramic rotor |

Mike matched this guys times easily. (yah, I know, hard to believe huh?) Thanks for coming Elliot....surprising when I looked up and you was there. That Ford GT was awesome but wasn't putting down the times....I was consistantly a 1/2 to a full second ahead of him, he bailed prior to the official timed runs. It was a technical course and good brakes and hp won it. TTOD was a heavily modified Boxster "S" with ceramic brakes. Second, a beat to crap 74 911 but running coil overs and a sport exhaust. 3rd was a modded Turbo 911. While not a zone event we attracted a 30% non Porsche crowd.....very fun but awfully warm....only ONE 914 showed up....we had a 356 which floated some valves and went CLANK!!!!! |

The name is Bond. James Bond. Yellow even STOPS faster!!! Hi Elliott, Looks like a good time, did you run your car? What's with the little mini black caliper in the 5 o'clock position? Tony I didn't run my car. I just finished installing Elephant Racing poly bronze suspension bushings and just now had the wheels aligned. The small black caliper, I believe is the parking brake on the Carrera GT. The yellow calipers indicate ceramic brakes. Cheers, Elliot |

While I was there, a lady police officer was cruizing the parking lot. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving-girl.gif) Some guy offered to let her run her police car on the course. Sad to say we couldn't talk her into it. I even promised we wouldn't tell anyone or take any pictures. Maybe we should have let Mike talk to her?
By the way, Mike was great with that starting flag. Someone said it was because of his experience twirling flags in high school. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cheer.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) |
