this may be a dumb question, but will a sportomatic tranny fit a 73 Ga case? Or must it be a 6 I know a guy who converted a 1975 914 2.0 to a Sportomatic, using a 911 Sporto tranny I once wrote a thread about it, but need to find it again ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bye1.gif) Gustl |

I know of one that was in Alabama or Tennessee.
The guy told me more than once that he had the car. I asked him if he might sell it and he said "never" I waited a couple years before calling him again. When I asked he said " oh, I sold it a while ago " I don't know where it went. |

That's 11 so far ... Holy thread necromancy, Batman! Just to chime in... There was an article in Panorama a number of years ago now that showed a factory letter stating that there were twenty-five 914-6 Sporto cars made as part of normal series production. There were 4 made for the 1970 model year, and 21 made for the 1971 model year. I believe that Kerry Morse may have been the person who dug up the letter. The above counts match much better with the info that we have seen here than the other "official" counts. --DD |
