I just got these from Jonathan yesterday, and having a bit of OCD, dove right into bringing them back to life.
When these are complete, polished and capped, I will put up a step by step how to pictorial on my website. For now, here are some rework shots before the stripping and polishing begin. Here is what a little time with a polishing wheel will get you on some used bolts. As usual for my projects on a budget, I try to get the most out of second hand parts. Sweat equity allows me to spend the cash where it makes the most sense.

do you have pics of the lugs that give a better view of the seat area? they look cone shaped to me. the wrong lugs can ruin your wheels.

As a total 914 newbie, I really rely on the members here to help me avoid mistakes. Here are a couple pictures. The seat is more concave dish than cone.
