Dave- I'm sorry I can't recommend one over the other- I've never stayed in any of them. Here's a hotel link for the area- 1 & 2 are closest to my place & look cheap. How clean they are is unknown, (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) . #'s 1 thru 5 are all close to me while 6 & on are all in Luray, which is only 17m away & a great drive over Massanutten Gap to my place.

Clean... as far as you know. Just don't show up with a blacklight. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/barf.gif)

And don't forget to throw the comforter on the floor before you sit on the bed.

The Lovely Joy and I are planning on staying at a B&B a bit north of town Friday night, and another down the road a bit for Saturday Night (closer to our Sunday destination...)

Blackstain has asked that his address not be posted on a public area of the forum, in order to keep the bots from finding it.

So:

http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=97941

Click on that link to get his address and phone number (if you get lost).

The password is "ecc"

I will echo this on page 1 Post 1 for easy reference.

Who is bringing what?

PM me with what kinda food you are going to bring, AND post it to this thread.

I will put a list on the first post of this thread for easy reference.
  • EVERYONE should bring a folding chair
  • We are going to need paper plated, cups, knives/forks/spoons
  • We have 1 easy up, and could use more. (Remember last year?) Pledge to bring one.
  • play an instrument? Bring it.
  • Got an IOU with the Sun Gods? Call it in!

We need beer, food, more beer, and more food (and more beer).

I'll PM if I get the chance. here ya go:

We'll bring a big batch of pulled pork and buns. And make a Costco run for tableware. I'll get one 'whatever' of what they've got, can't promise it'll be enough for all, so we shouldn't be alone in this...

QUOTE

play an instrument? Bring it.

if it's tunable, try to get it close to A=440 ahead of time...

QUOTE

I'll see what we can do.

But - if we're having that kind of beverage lineup (and you'll also need water and sodas...) you are going to need ICE and TUBS.

I have an IPA aging on the hops as I type this. I'll keg it up in a few more weeks and get it nice n' foamy. I don't know whether I'll be able to stay or whether it will be a day trip at this point, though.

I have a big tub I can bring, but I don't know if it will fit in my 914. Course, I don't know if I will trust my 914 on a 350 mile jaunt in Sept. either. I need project to prove themselves on smaller runs before they go big and far from home.

Ice will need to be sourced locally.

Yes I have a full size Weber kettle & I could pull a grill out of my stove & use it over the brick enclosed campfire. Quite a few dead trees we can use for firewood as well.

Man I hate that feeling! I drove the LE 800 miles her first time out. Only problem was the classic, factory engineering failure of vapor lock in the fuel pump. 400 mi in, it happened on 95 N, somewhere in NC during an August rush hour. I had to push her over to the side myself in bumper to bumper traffic- thank God it was flat & the car is so little! Waited 30 min. for it the fuel pump to cool down & then fired up & drove the rest of the way w/out further incident.

Hmm, 3 hours each way...looks like I'd better get my butt moving on finishing the garage so I can rebuild the passenger door innards (broken window regulator and exterior handle) and make sure the engine is up to par.
