This is the best unassembled 914 you are likely to run across. I bought the car several years ago as a restoration project. As all the 914 club guys know those types of projects grow and grow. Unfortunately life dictates that I try to get some of my $$$ back out of it. I have been posting a progress thread on line here too , and many of you may have seen it.

LOOKING FOR $16,200 $10000 OBO. please read on before thinking "this guy is CRAZY!" I am Open to any resonable offer, and may be able to help with delivery within a reasonable distance. thanks for looking

restoration thread

The PO told me the car had a recently rebuilt 2.0 liter engine, and it has DellOrto DRLA 36 carbs, stockish looking HEs and a manta type muffler.

So far here is a (partial) list of things done:
1) Full restoration shop body rejuvenation. Includes
a. Factory repro flares butt welded
b. Deleted eyebrow at headlights
c. Deleted targa bar bright trim by seam welding the rear lip
d. Added a custom high mounted stop light in targa bar
e. New rear floor pan
f. New seat hinges
g. New right side engine shelf
h. New battery tray ad support
i. Hell hole area totally remade
j. Door sill rust replaced
k. Reapaired minor front floor pan rust
l. New 916 style fr and rr bumpers professionally fit, with flared ends
m. New FG rocker panels professionally fit, with flared ends
n. Car is in primer, and 80% block sanded and second prime coat done
2) Interior totally reupholstered by Dr. Evil including new Getty designs FG dash. Seat cushions, back pad and door panels replaced with better quality ones.
3) 15 x 6 and 15 x 7 Fuchs wheels could use reconditioning, good tires ( new on rear)
4) unknown early 911 front end (eBay purchase) PLUS
a. turbo tie rods
b. new ball joints
c. weltmeister torsion bars
d. weltmeister anti sway bar with backing plates
e. Elephant racing poly bronze bushings
f. Elephant racing spherical front strut mounts
g. 911 brake calipers, pads and new bearings etc
5) Eric Shea 5 lug rear conversion PLUS
a. Beilstein shocks (new)
b. 180 lb springs
6) Porsche rear reflector medium condition
7) New clutch, installed just before the restoration began
8) Lots of new and used bits and pieces necessary to put a car back on the road

Here is the best reckoning I have of what I have spent so far….
Bought car $1700
looked up all old pelican parts purchases $4273
struts from 911 $323
rear 5 lug conversion (eric shea) $430
wheels on the samba $750
bought guages for instrument panel $191
bought parts car $450
steering wheel from ebay $35
Dash getty designs $500
reupholster entire interior $1400
bodyshop soda blasting $1000
ordered f/g rockers from performance products $230
Del Sol high mounted stop light $35
restoration designs for sheet metal $500
fiberglass 916 front and rear bumpers $600
4/1 paid bodyshop additional $3000
5/15 paid bodyshop additional $5000
9/15 paid bodyshop final $7200

TOTAL……………………………………………………..$27617

Looking for $16200, which is the cost of the restoration shop work ALONE. tons of photos at photobucket, search for gopack42 and you will see all the pics I took and the body shop took. this restoration has been FULLY documented.
