I'm trying to purchase a spindle/disc sander from someone in SLO and was wondering if anyone in that area might be coming into the LA area that could transport it for me. Gas money down and a few bucks for your time would ofcourse be included. Just checking my options...

I think dw914er goes back and forth a lot, he might be able to help. He drives some girl car like an Acura most of the time IIRC so he'll need to know how big it is.
If you end up driving up here and you need a place to crash I can offer you a less than opulent but clean, private and comfortable cabover camper that's in my front yard in the finest of white trash style, water & electricity included.
I plan to go to LA sometime in the next few weeks probably but not right away.

I'll be down in 3 or 4 weeks. I have a friend (yup, a real one) who is back and forth all the time. How soon do you need it? The Cap'n

Gents-
Thanks for the responses. The item is somewhat large, its a spindle/disc sander. I'm in no particular hurry for it, so I could wait. I'd say it would probably take a truck to transport and its around 200lbs. I'm afraid to mention it to the wife, I'm sure she'd love to have US pick it up AND spend the next few days wine tasting (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) . Kind of kills the savings from a nice CL find (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

This is the tool: http://www.grizzly.com/products/Spindle-Sander/G0529
