I'm trying to put back together the parking brake cable system on my car after the prior owner had to remove it (rust repair).

The single cable that comes from the parking brake handle goes to a bracket. Attached to that bracket are the two cables that go to the parking brakes. This bracket is inside the passenger compartment.

Now what's crazy is that the bracket isn't symetrical!!

The center hole is where the cable from the parking brake handle attaches.

"A" and "B" are where the cables that go to the brakes attach.

But here is the question; Does "A" go to the drivers side or to the passenger side? (which side is up)

And why the heck isn't it symetrical? (more of the pulling force would go to one side than the other!!)
