Recently, my original 914 inerior light (with the silver outer ring) bought the farm - cracked all by itself.
So, I have this interior light from either a very early 911 or a 356 - rocks from side-to-side, not top-to-bottom. It's a nice piece. All metal frame, etc. Has anyone ever tried to fit one of these to a 914? Looks like it may be about a quarter inch too short, but there is room for play in the backreast. I really like the roker on/off feature. Oh yeah, I also have one of those 9.95 eBay specials, that have no Hella markings - could do in a pinch for light. Pat |

The Pat Ive come to know would never even THINK of doing such things. bad imposter (IMG:style_emoticons/default/chair.gif) Yeah, well I'm thinking (just thinking) about becoming a little bit of a rebel. I've tested the light in question - too short! But, itf it would've fit I would have done it - it's a nice steel piece. I'm not a moderator anymore, so I can be a free thinker. Wonder what it would take to fit a 4-cam engine (know where I can get one - though really pricey). That's right! Probably going to the dark side. Why not - I have a great base & I've known it for 36 years. No flairs & no sixes & no jappy motors & no chebbies. But I would consider retro. I'm tired of bland. |

its a VW part...go to CIP1 and get one. 356 light is 6 volts. Rich I have 3 or 4 of those VW lights. They don't have the chrome outer ring that a 914 is supposed to have. Yeah, I can easily have light in the interior, but just try to find the right light! This piece, and I'm now certain it's 911, is solid, purty and all metal frame. Unfortunately, it's about a quarter inch too short to fit a 914. Tried it yesterday. Guess I'll put up a wanted ad for the right light. |
