1973 Porsche 914 1.7 for sale
Strong running silver Porsche 914 1.7, with removable targa top. Classic Porsche variant rarely seen on the East coast. View extensive pix at http://public.fotki.com/asig/914/ Older restoration, floor pan, rockers, jacking points, and battery tray area are solid. No chassis flex, body is straight and has a aggressive stance. Front trunk and drivers compartment dry, but rear trunk leaks if not covered. All of the locks work and have extra keys. The interior is clean, completely original, and in good shape. Car has all original carpets and accessories, also in good shape. Completely stock and original, except for a Pertronix ignition. Includes most of the appearance group items: chrome bumpers, chrome (alum) sail trim, three gauge console (clock, temp gauge, and volt gauge) and Fuchs alloys. Also installed are the passenger side mirror, and a beautiful period Becker Europa II radio and new antenna. It’s been stored winter indoors for most of its life, and one of the reasons for selling is that I no longer have a winter garage space. Fuel pump relocation kit (all the flexible fuel lines have been checked and changed) Stainless steel heat exchangers Newer fuel pump Newer rear springs & bump stops Installed 4 pipe Monza exhaust Installed front & rear sway bars, Halogen headlight conversion, rebuilt door stays, Replaced several shifter bushings, rubber elements, small bits and pieces. Numerous new parts purchased at Pelican and Auto Atlanta but not installed. Comes with new Bursch exhaust, indoor and outdoor covers, and four boxes loaded with lots of expensive and hard to find 914 spare parts, books and manuals, several notebooks of receipts. The car runs strong. Mileage-unknown. The odometer gave out @119k miles, 16 years ago. I bought it six years ago and only put 3-500 mi/year on it, if that. Summers only. The P.O. said that the engine was rebuilt @ 88k mi. Strong compression, FI works perfectly. The car passed inspection this year (October 08), as it always has, and is licensed, insured and on the road. Transmission shifts fine and linkage is still tight (for a 914). $800 inspection, oil change and tune-up with valve adjustment, and other work done last month, October, 2008 at Little Foreign Car Garage in Waltham. Skipper campaigns a 914 in SCCA and knows these cars. I'm sure there are a number of 914s on the west coast in similar or better shape, but you won't find many out here on the east coast. If you’re a serious buyer, please get in touch. Price $6800 obo |
