There seem to be more HE's available for the 1.7 and 1.8 than for the 2.0. I've seen somewhere before that they'll fit a 2.0 but either the muffler or muffler bracket needs to be changed or modified. Can somebody shed some light on this?

You can use 1.7-1.8 HE's on your 2.0. You will need to use a 1.7-1.8 muffler AND bracket.

I have a set of stainless HE's and a bursch for sale in the classifieds.

All the systems fit on all the motors BTW.

I believe the tubing size is the same for 1.7/1.8 and 2.0.
