IIRC, I paid 800 for mine bout 6-7 years back.

You can't complain about the ROI on that trailer.

Well today I got the help of a friend to take apart my old air pump and find out what was wrong.

Actually it wasn't much except for the reeds which were extremely dirty (no air filter above the reeds) and filled with all kinds of old paint, etc. Also we had to make new gaskets, but that wasn't hard.

This was an old Sears unit, but I understand that I might be able to get the parts I need (air filter over the reeds) from SpeedAire.

It is pretty rewarding to take something apart, learn how to fix it and see the fruits of your labors.

We also discovered that you could put a little oil in the reeds and make the worlds greatest ring tone... just make sure your boss isn't around when the phone rings.

Fun day.

Ha, now I have two air pumps.
