Just because a car is in the museum does not mean it is period correct, there are many which are not.

Those are later steel wheels. The very early low end cars had body color bumpers.

That car keeps popping up on this forum. I wish somebody would secure the VIN, chassis #, color code, and build date of that car.

That car keeps popping up on this forum. I wish somebody would secure the VIN, chassis #, color code, and build date of that car. Paul O.K. guys. I dug out the book I bought from the museum when I went in 1991. The car still looked the same then. I do not have the color code or build date but I do have the VIN number. Are you ready???? VIN # 470 290 0001 The first 914 to come of the assembly line. This should help nail down the production date also. I could dig through my old pics I took that day. I know I took one of it, but to be honest I was not into 914's at that time so I would most likely have only a side profile shot, nothing of any detail. Sorry guys. JIM |

Then I'd like to know the chassis # (body#) from that car. However, I have my doubts that it has one. I believe a few early cars did not get them.
