Let me know what you think.
This is a jpeg, but the original is an .ai file, which is infinitely scalable, and printable from most shops. I can also change it to be just about anything for fonts, etc. Please let me know what you think. Wife booted me off the PC with all the art software (my laptop does not really have the balls to run good stuff, and doing image work on a laptop blows) but I can move the boxes to a horizontal plane rather then vertical one. I can make the size business card to poster sized. I can change the font. Zach |

My initial reaction is its not friendly... My next reaction is......so what. Rich (IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) with the first reaction. I'm thinking deeply about the second. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I like the concept but can we see what three 914's look like with three check marks? Three different color cars, three different angles. Maybe like a front marker light shot, a targa bar shot and a tail light shot? More 914's less other guys. My thought on this is the word "Hershey" What if you want to keep the event on the east coast but move the event to a different location in the future? It's like Bob's World Class Autobody. Bob has a great reputation everyplace he goes! Bob sells the place to Jim. Jim needs to change the name and start building his business all over because he has no identity. Now if Bob would have called his shop World Class Autobody, he could have franchised it and not sold out. Oh, Jim makes the same fopa, He calls his place.... Jim Bob's! I think this is "us" crashing the Hershey event. Would expect the same annual crashing if they keep having the swap meet. ...I'm assuming there will be another East Coast Cookout that will produce another line of logos and banners...and possible location changes.... |

Cool, I get that. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) It's just such an awesome event name. Being an online group with no real roots we'll have to crash events every time we want to play, any place we want to play. I guess if the event moves someplace else the balance of the name is still great! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) But did you like my Joe Bob story? Okay, here are some more versions.
I tried to make the design slightly more inclusive. Let me know what you think. Oh, I fixed the bumper on the 911 after I made these gifs. It is not yellow any more. Vertical format will be better for shirts, Horizontal format will be better for a banner (if we make one). New designs down the page... Zach |

I'm out of "Me" time for the evening. I'll have to add a red check to the banner version tomorrow maybe.

I would suggest it like this.
Mid Engine Invasion. (large letters) Hershey 2009 (small letters) This give us the option, like Rick noted, of invading another event next year...possibly in the middle of the country to include all the cold ass Michigan and Minnesota guys... This also gives us the ability to include boxsters and caymans in the future...there are alot of guys selling the 914 to buy boxsters now so its the same club guys, just newer cars. Oooooo, Mid Engine Invasion...Sturgis...lol Now that would be cool. I always wanted to go to Sturgis. Just gotta design a mid engine T4 powered cycle......hmmmmm gears moving....hmmmm IDK what the graphics are...checks or not...whatever you think is cool, I am ok with. Jim Hoyland is waiting our conclusions to make up the tags. How about pics of the boxster and cayman rear ends...and maybe the spider also... Rich |

The 911 and the 914 were easy. The 928 is a little bit of a fudging and is early 80. The 77-79 models had a weird nose profile. For shirts we could incorperate a year, but we don't want to do that for a banner (or we have to make a new banner every year). Same for the ID tags. Zach |

If this is a final proof, lock the thread please, we are done.
I will send the final graphic to Jim Hoyland so he can get all the nametags in play. Rich |

I don't think I have the option to lock the thread. I'll need to make sure I can rescue the graphic off the drive of my flooded computer. I'll not be able to confirm that until monday at the earliest. If not, I know I have the prior version on my work machine, and it will not take me long to get it back to where it is here.
