Just noticed a 1971 914 FI racer for sale on E-Bay. Buy it Now price is $2450 and current bid is $2075. Car is located in Hingham, MA and cost of shipping would be about $760 to Rancho Cordova. Has been sitting since 1997 and motor is frozen, so it may need new heads and pistons, or maybe a shot of penetrating oil to get it turning.
Thought I'd pass this along if you know of anyone interested in a racer that's already had a lot of work done already: suspension, roll cage, brakes, fuel cell, etc. Bidding ends February 3.
