I picked up pair of Boge black front struts from a 1972 911T that I'll be installing for a five lug conversion. I'm going to bead blast them clean and repaint them. Does anyone know the proper black finish? Flat, Satin, or Gloss?

(Yes, I know it won't be original to my car, but I at least want to repaint them as the factory did on the 914-6's...)

Thanks!

I asked this question on the PP 911 board, and got 2/2 votes for satin... Satin it will be. I'll make sure to post pictures when I'm done.

Edit - I've started a thread in the garage.

Mine looks like satin too. I'll see if I can get a good shot for you.

Mine has undercoating on most of it, but the paint is satin if that's any consulation. Couldn't get a very good shot, will have to wait till i can get it outside in the spring.

Please don't beat up on me too much, but this an "originality" Forum. Five lug conversions, last I saw, are not original.
