Aloha Folks,
My '73 has a high beam switch that went into it's own private idaho. If I used the turn signal, breathed, hit a pot hole, or otherwise engaged in any body function, the high beams would flicker or just start sending morse code. I think it was saying 'eine bier bitta'... but who knows. After a quick roadside siesta, I pulled the ground wire from the switch to the relay, and all was well. I did fry the relay and had to replace it.
So.... any idea how to fix a spazmotic high beam switch? Typical failure modes?
If I cant find out anything conclusive or if it's just plain a lost cause, what year switch is compatible with a '73? I got the idea that the earlier years might work.
Thanks!
