I've got a replacement piece for the plug on the pass floor that I would need to strip the undercoating off before patching in. It would be quicker and easier for me to use my bead roller and form a piece that didn't have the plug. What purpose does the plug serve, except to trap moisture and start rusting? Should I replace with patch piece with the plug or make a patch without a plug?
