Yeah, it keeps a history of the VIN, nothing gets deleted by default ...

I've added some VIN's when I come across any not in the db so I don't own all the ones listed to me. If you could delete all except the ones I really own, that would be great. It's a smaller list of ones to keep under my name than delete

I only own

Lets pretend for a minute that I'm stupid, OK maybe two or three minutes (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

What is the purpose of the VIN data base?

What is the purpose of the VIN data base?

To collect VIN numbers? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

Alright, i'm a smartass ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

There are a few guys here on 914world that have a keen interest in the history of all things 914.

The VIN database is a repository of knowledge that has helped answer a few questions (and create some more).

How are you seeing that number? When I go to the VIN page, it says 9940.

Hmm, maybe your browser has the page cached?

Try a SHIFT + Refresh when looking at the page ...

Now I'm seeing 9941. I've seen it incrementing since Jim Hoyland made his post on the 15th. I'll try clearing cache and logout/login and see if that works.

[Edit]: No joy...still shows 9941 for me. I even tried on a different computer. As I recall, when Jim said 72 more were needed, I was seeing the correct number of 9928 at that time. Weirdness.
