I found two badly deformed exhaust seals when I pulled the pipes off the manifolds.

Any tips or tricks to making sure the seals and pipes seat correctly?

I'm considering a small drop of glue/sealent to stick the copper seal and pipes together properly - hoping this helps with proper alignment when I bolt the pipes into the manifold.

Always file the part of the exhaust that contacts the copper gasket. You want a smooth flat surface to press against the copper. I usually put some muffler cement on the copper to help hold it up in the head.

I anneal the gaskets prior to fitting/installation and also use copper gasket cement to hold them in place.

Will do - Thanks.

Searching for "anneal" found some good threads for this that didn't turn up in my other "exhaust" oriented searches.

Sorry for the repetitive post.

If you're gonna file the pipes, you MUST file them together, not one port at a time. The Cap'n
