I realize that you were having some problems with the turbo installation, but I was curious how the performance of the stock configuration fuel injected engine compares to the previous turbo configuration? What are the pluses and minuses? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

I'll let you how stock performs when I get the engine re-installed. On boost, it was a totally different drive than stock. It was about the same until 3000 rpms. Instead of flattening out, the torque curve goes vertical! I was asked what kind of boost it was making, to which I answer, "I was too busy grabbing the next gear to notice!" OK, informal poll:

Should I replace the rear trunk sheet metal where the turbo used to be (I already have the donor pieces) and repaint to make it look OG, or should I make a cover plate for the opening ? Maybe even add a little plaque saying something like "Crown turbo kit, installed 1974, removed 2009"?

Cleaned up the engine bay, resprayed the battery tray and replaced the engine bay perimeter seals. I also replaced the black plastic covers for the metal tabs with minty ones from my parts car.

Sorry , I just realized that I never finished this thread. Stock performance was great, much better driveability.

Very nice work on a great looking car!

On your last underside photo, the sway bar end links caught my eye. What type sway bar is that?

I hope you welded in a trunk piece, metal finished it and shot it with a nice coat of OEM blue. Your project came out beautifully. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Never got around to it. I did include donor trunk metal with the car when I sold it to the buyer in Austria.

From the little of it I can see, it looks like it is an H+H Specialties Bar, made in the 70's
by a company in Massachusetts. I have both his front and rear bars in my car.

After assessing numerous factors, I decided to convert my '73 2.0 from a turbo configuration back to stock.

I am probably in the minority here, BUT, (IMG:style_emoticons/default/clap56.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/clap.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumb3d.gif)

Stock is nice on a car in that condition.

That is also what I thought, but I wasn't sure. I have those on my car as well. The fittings used to connect the drop links to the trailing arm are unusual, not like the stock or Weltmeister arrangement.
