My 1911 is over-carbed with 44idf carbs, so it runs rich.

Should I use a hotter plug or a cooler plug because of that?

I want to replace my plugs, and I am thinking NGK B5ES, which are a little hotter than the B6ES.

I realize that the right answer is to go to 40s, but I haven't done that yet. I am hoping that if I opt for the hotter plug, that it would run a little hotter. Oil temps don't break 212 and I worry about condensation.

Hey Joe, I like the NGK's but 5's are to hot. You need to drop down a jet and try to get to 6's. I like the way the car run with 6's or 7's. The hotter plugs will work but you need to watch them.
