To all WCC event planners,
I would really appreciate your feedback and any comments on the registration form for the WCC 2004, I will try to attach a first drafft of it to this first post, if not how else can I distribute it? It is a MS Word document. Reg Form Download A few minor details need resolution in the next couple of weeks, then the final registration forms will be ready to distribute. I think we are in good shape to date. The event has a new webpage too (please see the 914world.com BBS for the link). If you would also review that, I would welcome any comments. We will be making one final last revision on/by March 19th, when Jeroen gets back form vacation, and then everything will be set, so these next 3 weeks are all the time we have left to plan and make revisions. 1st paragraph, change anyone to everyone (re: accomodating all of us)
I think guests should be able to drive in the autocross for a fee (in their friend's car). |

Is the $20 fee for the LPR concours?
I thought our 914 car show was going to be free. |

QUOTE Is the $20 fee for the LPR concours? I thought our 914 car show was going to be free. ' There is a fee, paid at the door, if you enter a car in the Concours or take a swap meet stall. Entry to the Concours, for drooling purposes...is free. Participation in the WCC display and awards program...is also at no additional cost other than the Registration fee. The registration form should probably be in downloadable PDF format. With PDF, it will look the same and print out the same no matter what kind of computer or operating system you are using. I can create the PDF document from any other format if you need me to.

I have been think ing that we need to have name tags so people will get to know each other.
Does anyone have the software and capability to print these up once the attendance list is complete, so I dont have to buy the software? I think they should simply say something like: " 22 Herr James Piech Red 1969 914/8 Sttugart, Germany" The '22' in this case, is the car number we will assign to each car in the event. It will help people fill out their peoples choice voting ballots, connect people to cars and ID unpaid attendees from crashing our party. If we printed two of these, then one could go in the front windshield of the car and the other could be worn by the attendee. Accompanying freinds and family would have a similar but different tag. |

Great idea! I don't have the software either but it can't cost much. The sticky label paper is pricey though.

the labels aren't pricey.
I use videotape face labels for things such as this. I'll make one up for you Jeff. We can preprint these and then make some blank ones for stragglers, I assume we will allow last minute folks to register/attend? |

I think we scratch the sticker on the car idea for 2 reasons:
1. Cars will already have a car # and the name tag will have name and car #, too 2. Pain in the ass factor because: a. sticker name tags will need to be worn for 3 days, so really, stickers won't work unless we make multiples b. if we are doing non sticker name tags this becomes just 1 more thing to do to make a sticker for the car c. some folks won't even put them off because they can be a pain to remove sometimes |

I like what you've done Sean...incorporating the event logo is agreat touch.
The name tags do not need to be an adhesive sticker...in fact I was thinking of using those card stock paper labels (~4"x~3"?) that simply slide into a plastic name tag sleeve that has a pin on the back. Assuming that the Rallye Shields have the car numbers on them then we do not need one for the cars. I dont have warm fuzzy feelinbg about how these rallye Sheilds wqill be affixed to the car though. Was that resolved? Attached to the license plate screws? Double-sided taped tothe inside of the windshield? ON the grpahics you have done above, the only thin I would add, is that I think the city/state and car data should be larger. ON a smallish name tag, that may disappear and not be legible. Do we need special software to make these labels? Surely someone here has made them up before??? Jeff QUOTE I think we scratch the sticker on the car idea for 2 reasons: 1. Jeff,
at the MUSR we used a business sized card as a badge. They were inserted into the clear-plastic-with-a-safety-pin-type holder. That is the size that I designed these to be. We can make them bigger, but I think that size will suffice. The benefits are that these can be printed on standard pre-cut blank business cards from Avery and others. I print them out of Photoshop, but Word should be able to do them as well. |
