Also, someone should PM Ken Schipper (kenschipper) and ask if his wife's design company would be willing to help us with the logo again this year.

Mark,

The World site doesnt have an EIN number through IRS do they? I could setup a bank account for when the registration money starts coming in, and use a debit card to disperse funds when the time comes.

I confirmed today with the guy from the British Car Club that had the autocross at Tahoe - The autocross was held at the Horizon.

Still waiting to hear back from SVR Autocross Chair.

Just got off the phone with the SVR Autocross Chair who is a 914 guy and also a member of this forum. They are on board.

He is looking in to if the hotel is big enough, SVR-PCA and SNR-PCA running a concurrent event at the same hotel with a separate coned area for the general P car population. They would provide a couple of cool things. One is of course the equipment and insurance for not only one autocross but two, Saturday and Sunday. The second is they have a setup to have a disc jockey and music in the parking lot... They understand their event is separate and we don't have to register for theirs and they don't have to register for ours. We will just each individually pay to autocross which at current prices would be $35/day...

Great work Rob...I'm sure the Horizon is big enough, especially in the off-peak season like we are planning.

I think having autocross 2 days would be great. We could have a WCR autocross one day, and if the drive is the other day and someone doesn't want to go, they have another option of something to do.

Two days of AX would also get the hard cores like Trekkor and Randal interested in coming. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumb3d.gif)

Brett, we have no EIN number. The 914World doesn't really exist, in the technical sense.

Wow, you just blew my mind...its like we're not here, but we're here (IMG:style_emoticons/default/drunk.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Ok, what I'll do is just start another account with my AEE Charter EIN...hopefully BofA lets that slide and waives all the fee's.

I have sponsorship promises from:

CFR Tangerine Racing

JWest

EvilWorks

Engman says yes but wants us to ask him in 6 months. (I notice him having a garage sale of sorts in the Classifieds and wonder if he isn't struggling a bit with the economy).

PMB is on board too...

There is some random possibility that a track event could be going on that weekend at Reno-Fernley as well. But, I don't think we should make it a priority to pick dates that coincide with that. If it happens it happens and we can coordinate and offer it.

Autocross tends to level the playing field between the track bragards and the regular guys. Turns just happen too fast in an autocross for most track guys...

Discussion of 2009 WCR at Paul's BBQ was limited but included having the event in either May or September. Based on that, I went to the PCA Board Meeting on 1 July, and spoke directly with Bob Peake. They are definately on board and want to have a two day weekend PCA multi event with the Sierra Nevada Region. They are simply awaiting our choice of a date which should be the next step we take...

I agree, especially if its going to be in May.

I am still waiting to hear from my parents, but it looks like I wont be able to make it to the reunion this month.

Received a phone call from Paul Sayegh recently wanting to know how I felt about having the WCR on the same weekend as Cool September Days which is an annual Tahoe event that has been growing each year. I am not at all against this personally as it gives our attendees options. Cool September Days has a street rod show and other events that they are willing to share with us per Paul.

I rode up around Tahoe with my motorcycle this last week to survey the parking lot at the Horizon. Unfortunately, I picked Thursday and was completely unaware that there was a celebrity golf tournament going on across the street. Result is I did not get such a good look at the parking lot which was mobbed but I did get an idea. We can offer golf as an event for our attendees!

Options is what it is all about!

Will that affect the room rates we were promised?

Asked and answered at today's Reunion. I suspect that Thursday night, should you decide to come up early will be dirt cheap. Friday and Saturday will be at least double... But rates are still up in the air until we coordinate with all the groups having an event at the same time and show the Horizon numbers.

At the Reunion/Tahoe planning meeting today, the dates 17, 18, and 19 September 2010 were agreed on for tentative WCR dates.

This evening, I contacted Doug Gale of Trackmasters by e-mail and asked about the possibility of him having a Reno-Fernley Track Day event on that weekend. I made him aware that we would have PCA SVR and SNR as well as our people at the Lake for that weekend. I will report back when I hear from him but if he can get the track, it is in his own best interest to have an event since we have coaxed a hundred or so track rats into that area. Plus, we have given him plenty of notice.

I hoped to post this before it was announced, but I got a text on the way to Santa Cruz that, of course, my friends wedding is the 18th.

Since its Saturday, I'm not sure how its going to work out.

I might have to relieve myself from the planning committee:(

No problem. Just tell them a Tahoe wedding is soooo beautiful. We can have the reception in the parking lot with a keg and there is already a band...

Seriously, are they having the wedding close to Sac? It is only an hour drive to get up there after the wedding.

Not sure where the wedding is, but they were talking about Lincoln, so maybe it will work out...just sucks because I'd like to spend the whole weekend up there.

You probably all have seen that Randy Wentzel (RoadGlue) has volunteered to chair a drive day for those who want to see the sights around the Tahoe area. Anyone who went to WCR '07 will recall that Randy puts on a heck of a drive... I have sent Randy the password for this forum and he will hopefully check in soon... Welcome Randy and thanks for stepping up!
