It’s not every day that you return from work to find a large box in the driveway:

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i146.photobucket.com-179-1347923911.1.jpg)

Wonder what's inside:

I think that Jim approves:

Looks pretty good:

It's a 2.4 four for the 71 914:

I bet I know what your doing this weekend. Looks like you got a helper to hand you tools too. Just need to teach him wrench, socket, 10MM and 13MM and you'll have the perfest assistant.

It’s from e-bay and was very reasonably priced.

Here is the link to the add

2.4 engine

I could not build up the 1.7 engine the way I wanted for the purchase price including shipping from California.

As sometimes happens with a project like this life gets in the way but at last progress.

The motor a (2.4 four) is in, SSI's, Triad West, Anti Sway, Bilsteins, 180lb springs and a deep sump.

Still to go 2.0 combo gauge and some misc wiring.

Finally getting close (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)

Seriously, some of us (me) should reference historical events during our builds.
"yup did an engine swap, it was a 2.4 presidential term build"... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/av-943.gif)

Pulled the motor during Clinton
Back in during Bush
Obama fired it up!
