Once restored a Europa to that degree. Sold it about two months later...couldn't stand to see it driven, touched, rained on, pelted with road stones, bug encrusted...My mind needs a driver. Beautiful work!!!

I would suggest a grommet or "escutcheon" to go around the handle on the left side of the dash. You can see the edge of the vinyl around that, and it looks unfinished. Especially when compared to all of the other amazing stuff in that car!

This is the story of my life 2 steps foreword 1 step back, that trim part has had me pissed off since the install, but I have had other things much bigger to worry about.

At some point you have to say W.T.F.!, and finish the car. I can finely see the light at the end of the tunnel and hope to hell its not a train.

7&8x16 Fuchs black with polished lip (old school) looks best with the signal orange.

I agree nothing like black fuchs with a polished lip on an orange 914 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Your car is looking absolutely sweet. I'm not huge on the black trunk lids personally. Not my taste but your car looks kick ass (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)

Why do you have to live on the other side of the country! I want to be able to study the car in 3D to take it all in.

I was wondering the same thing. . . It looks EXACTLY like the "U" joints on an EA-6B flap and slat drive system I used to work on.

The new shift coupling is called a Apex joint, it is not a kit. This is all the handy work of Bill Pfister at Eurotech Advanced Automotive in Framingham Ma. He machined the flange from Duralon and then used a steering rack bellows from a 944, with another Duralon bushing at the end so the shaft can rotate without twisting the bellows.

I do not think you could use it with a /4 due to space? Price I will tell you when I get my invoice.
