I tried search, but +gt +gas +cap are all too short...

Anyone know a source for a GT-style gas cap? When I get my car out of storage, I'm thinking about cutting a hole in the hood...

According to Eric Shea, you can get this cap from Wolfburg West for $15 Without the tab. You then have to get the neck off a VW Bug gas tank to fit to the 914 .

It has to be an early-early VW gas neck. As in, split and/or oval window years.

Martin Baker had done a run of them within the past few years. Cap and filler neck included for around $150???

His are great quality if he still has any left.

Maybe someone can chime in here if they know his user name here?

I seem to remember he was selling the last of them, but, might be worth a shot.

Peter

I remember reading on the Early 911S Registry that Martin had sold the last of his caps and would not be making more.

Yet another source for you.

This guy has them on eBay Germany. Either in a brushed finish or polished.
