The 1970 914 I just bought has the old (1980 ?) BBS "honeycomb" style wheels. The rim is polished aluminum and the honeycomb section is a flat white. The white is chipped off in places, and there's gold underneath on the rears and silver on the fronts. I never remember seeing white ones. So, I'm wondering if these were repainted by a previous owner, or did BBS actually offer white ones? Also looking for any suggestions on touching up that flat white...almost an egg shell off white...like dull chalk.

I've got the BBS RA wheels on my six. They are the honeycomb type that are gold. They were on the car when I bought it. Not real crazy about them 'cause they hide the nice red C2 calipers....Don't know if BBS sold white ones. If no one else knows for sure you can go to thier web site and contact them. bbs-usa.com/

By "Gold BBS" and "White BBS" are you talking about the center cap or the whole honeycomb section?

the whole honeycomb section was gold (89), white (90 up). i really liked the way the white bbs was color coded to the white body paint.
