Geez Dave, you guys are really going at it. I think this is something Gerry will always remember. I wish I had the chance to do this with my dad. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)

Jake's building a 2270 kit for Gerry and I to assemble.

Next step is clean the garage, for it's return. That could take a while. Gonna apply the sterile John approach.

Sterile John was one of my old dental school instructors. He taught oral surgery and watched you like a hawk to make sure you didn't break sterile technique. He also watched when you cleaned up after you were done. Sometimes he would wet a gauze 2X2 with alcohol and wipe an area down. If there was any dirt he ate you a new asshole (variation on the white glove inspection). Anyway we hated it especially since there were dental school employees that were supposed to clean the operatories. We thought it was redundant. After I got out of school I realized that the whole reason for this was to teach you to look critically at your work space cause no body else was there to check it later.

For all of you who read this blather the funny part of the story is that Sterile John has 10 kids. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol2.gif)

Ok so humor me. Another Sterile John story, the guy was a character.

The guy loved the theater, symphony and opera. He wasn't really my kinda guy but he did have an old Rolls I could appreciate.

In front of the Opera House in Seattle was a parking area cut into the curb that had enough room for maybe 3 cars. And, there was a sign that said RESEARVED FOR THE MAYOR. Sterile John would always park his big old Rolls in that spot and he never paid for parking. No police would ever ticket the car because they thought it had to be someone important.

Mine weighed in at 177lbs. The crate is plenty tough. Sarah my 10 year old was jumpin up and down on it. I had hoped it was under 150 then it could have gone UPS or FedEx. Cheaper and easier. Gonna use Fedex Freight instead. Takin it in the morning then goin over to Kevin's to help him drop the engine in the red car.

if you ever have to take a home built box apart, the recipient will love you if you use duplex nails (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) . i hate taking a "cats paw" to dig nails out. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

No offense Brad but I think you might have gone thru mine too. It's not indistructable.

I used drywall screws. Love those things. I wish you could put our cars together with them. Man it just feels so good when they suck the pieces together.

the nail has 2 heads. one further down the shank. you only drive the nail to the lower head. then you use the one on the top to pull the nails out. sort of a temporary fastener.
