They don't deal much with late model cars ...

But i might have a source for a brain and harness to test with. I'm working on it.

Looks like i found a solution! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cheer.gif)

They have a version for older cars that let's you bypass the whole OBD2 stuff and just run GPS, Speed, Heading and G-Force.

It uses a Driveshaft/CV sensor to get good Speed sampling and the satellite link works just as in the more modern cars.

I'll be installing the kit tomorrow. We'll see how that goes ...

Wait... it by-passes the OBD2? So I could use it with my stand-alone setup to get GPS, Speed, Heading and G-Force...

I've been eyeballing a certain unit that plugs into the cig lighter and suction cups to the windshield. it does hp and tq, speed, lateral g forces, etc, but doesn't upload to a satellite.

which unit do you have? This is sounding interesting.

Well, that's the catch. The product hasn't officially been released yet. The satellite version that is.

They do have the same product which works as a stand alone data logger.
But you have to download the data to a computer every once in a while.

The new product is transmitting data in real-time over satellite to a central server. I'm building the back-end and web-based front-end for them right now.
