How much do you have to lower the car before steering rack spacers are needed? I'm planning on lowering the front this weekend, maybe 1" to
1 1/2"s. Should I get the rack spacers, or not?

Thanks,

Absolutely. You can get some longer bolts and some washers and do the same thing. More than a bout 3/4 of an inch on the spacers/wahsers causes a problem with the steering shaft as it enters the bulkhead. Otherwise, you would use as much spacer as you lower the car. The rest (if needed) is done at the strut, either by raising the spindles or adding a special ball joint that is longer.
