I've got the round 1.7L air filter that was used as an update for the original oil-bath filter (don't remember what year they did this). I had a paper filter for it, but have discovered that it is missing so I have no reference on what it was.

Does anyone know of a Fram or AC filter that can be used in this filter housing? As far as I know the actual filter element is not available from anyone.

I don't think I have a 1.7 filter housing, if you want to take some measurements, I can see if I can find something that will work.

This is one of those times when I'm glad to be wrong. I found back the old filter.

A Fram CA146 or STP SA146 works just fine. The wall of the filter isn't as thick as the one pictured on that Samba ad, but it fits well and it was about $8 with tax.
