Went out to Triad West Performance today, looking over some of the used parts to fill in my car. As a new comer to the 914 world, I must say that those guys are the BEST! Took the 914 up on the hoist, looked it over for me, showed me stuff, explained stuff, helped me out. Basically, these guys will get my business when i need performance stuff.

this is, by the way, an uncompensated endorsement. i hope it is ok to post this in this forum. the guys at Triad really are awesome. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif)

and i got to drvie away with the top off! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mueba.gif)

Dave and Eric are great people. You should try the Autocross, they both show up and kick ass.

I think that it's always good to hear about positive experiences with shops/vendors. Kinda helps contrast to some of the less positive notes we've seen...

i had met Eric at the autocross a few weeks ago, and he told me about all the used parts they had. but the visit was far more than just picking up a few used parts very reasonably; it was educational, to say the least. although i am very new (one of the unschooled masses trying to see the light), i was treated, well, like part of the club. i learned far more than i can put on this post, or that i want to because it will reveal my woeful ignorance. they impressed me as a great little company, and when i get around to a new exhaust system, or new battery for that matter, i am going to them. top notch guys.

Chris drove his impressive metallic light blue machine down to the shop. i followed him into seattle one day. what a beautiful car. i wish he would post pictures of it. one of the nicest i've seen.

In case you haven't figured it out yet, there aren't too many rules around here.

And I for one, am happy to see some positive threads. Keep it on the road and the shiny side up. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif)

Chris's car is awesome looking, and appears to be pretty hot, too. Eric's was the car i looked at the most during my short visit to the autocross. impressive doesn't even approach what i thought. listening to it fire up was stirring. when my car grows up it wants to be like those two! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif) suffice it to say i am more enthusiastic about driving my little car now, knowing what the possiblities are.

drove home from olympia today, top off, by way of shelton, youngest daughter with me. she loves it almost as much as i do!

Yes, Dave was kind enuff to bring me a muffler to annoy the neighbors. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I gotta get up to Bremerton this year & have a go at Eric & his sliver car. I doubt I can beat him on his home turf, ....but I'll enjoy trying (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

that muffler looked good in the photos you posted. it was very cool seeing how they are made. nice work they do there. if your car is anything like Eric's or Chris's, it must be awesome to see! before seeing them, i had no idea what was possible from a 914.

to think that i have fun with 80 horsepower! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mueba.gif) if it had much more hp, i would get out of the car only for head calls. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Well, Red (if that's your real name), ya'll come down on 28 March for the first PCA AX of the year. I'll put the pass seat back in & you can get a ride or 2.....maybe even put in the seat belt, too......just don't be carrying no effin' camera (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Ayup, Chris, I heered that. I'd like to try some of that 3rd gear AX (IMG:style_emoticons/default/burnout.gif)

Its not a stock 1.7L as his Grandpa built it and it goes like stink. I think its a 1911cc with a carb cam to run the dual webers.
