I need one of the new t-shirts anyway. Good enough excuse for a road trip? I know, I know, I've said it before. I've yet to make a D&G. Maybe this year is it.

Rusty, if I go and Glenn has t-shirts available, I will buy you one for sure. I'm looking into being able to make the trip. I should know for sure in a couple of days.

I went last year and had a great time. I picked up a vdo clock for about $5. The fires were bad and I made the mistake of leaving the roof off. Lottsa ash. I think Bowlsby was there and there were a few nice 914 8s. Great "T" shirts and the BBQ was good. I won't make it this year gotta work.
Cheers, Elliot

Gint,
SoCal isn't too Hooter's friendly. I was living in LA when the one in Santa Monica opened. It was like they put a sex & bondage club up next to a school. People really didn't like the idea. I didn't/don't get it. It's chicken wings and beer.
Gint
Apr 1 2004, 11:23 AM
OK, but it doesn't have to be Hooters. I guess SoCal 914 guys getting together for dinner and a few brews is blase. Or is it just me?
Dave_Darling
Apr 1 2004, 11:36 AM
No can do... I'll be visiting with other friends in the LA basin. But I'll be there for the swap, and if someone knows where to get some brews (and maybe some hooters?

) afterward, I'll be happy to go along!
Ugh, I may wind up leaving home at 6 AM on Friday as well! Logistics sometimes really suck...

Got my rental beater. Nice little Mazda 6. 4 banger, decent power, good mileage, cruise, OK stereo, auto-stick, trunk big enough to hold four Fuchs (3 with tires). 06:00 tomorrow I'm outa here.
Who's got some 914 garage action going Saturday afternoon? Lunch? Dinner? Beers? I don't live there, you're gonna have to help me out here.

Apr 1 2004, 10:22 PM
sounds like we are going to the movies instead!
O.k. Fudrucker's in Lake Forest has good burgers, ample parking and muscle cars.
Cook's Corner is on Santiago Canyon Rd. just north of Irvine, some twisties in the dark and Harley crowd (but we can take 'em)
Hooter's in Newport Beach/Balboa and a ton of cool hangouts from Seal Beach to Laguna Beach but earlier arrival for parking spots requiered cuz' everybody has a toy to show off!
Most happenings are Fri. nite or Sat. early a.m.
I'll call you tomorrow afternoon.
Almost forgot, gangsta' cruisin' on Bristol in Santa Ana

Hay. Iffn yo get here late tonight we won't be able to do much except BS in hte garage, but tomorrow morning I'll be heading to the OCR/PCA breakfast meeting at Hof's Hut in Tustin to show off the turbo-ized 911.
http://www.pcaocr.org/images/breakfast_club.jpg I know it says the 5th but that's a typo, It's always the first saturday of the month.
Good show, usually between 75 and 100 porsches show up. Wine and cheese crowd, Mostly tail draggers but a few 914s make it.
Good people too. you're invited iffn it doesn't interfere with your Al Reed drop off.
