Friend just got his '86 944 turbo rear-ended. It will probably be totaled. How much should he be able to buy the car back from the insurance? It has 85k on the odometer. I'm guessing parts alone are worth 4-6 grand. The porsche mechanic thinks the tranny and engine are fine as is the suspension parts. I don't know what he has it insured for but I think he paid about 6 grand for it a few years ago.
Thanks,
Buck

That seems about market correct price. I sold my 87 944 turbo about 3 years ago for about $6500 with about 100k miles and really nice condition.

just my 2 cents.

what ever the insurance company wants. I bought back a real 914/6 with a SC engine and a 915 trani for $600. That was a steal.

I had a 944...always wanted a turbo, they are still a hell of a fast car with not a lot of money.
