I am in the initial planning stages of replacing the rear buhings with Elephant poly-bronze bushings. Probably replace the rear shocks at the same time.
Would I be best served by removing the tranny first? It takes under an hour to drop the tranny, so it's not a big deal. But will it make performing the rest of the work any easier?
My thanks in advance.

Nope you don't have to remove the tranny. My new poly-bronze bushings made a big difference. This may be known to you anyway but here goes...
- mark your alignment carefully though before you take the old stuff out... assuming it's right now. That way you will get it back close before aligning it, whether it's you and some strings or driving it to someone else.
- make sure the half-shafts don't hold up their own weight with the axles hanging down. It bends the boot ferrules.
- get a buddy to help you position the half-shafts while you reinstall.
Good Luck
