How are you supposed to remove the nut on the mount if there's nothing to counter hold the mount? If I can get the mount off, I'm using this one (like I found on my Vanagon). Part number 113.142.355B.

I tried to hold the rubber part with a channel lock but tore the bonding between the rubber and the stud. mad.gif

Looka to me as if the hex portion of the mount is just right for a wrench. Of course, I deal with those things on a daily basis, so my insight may not be what you see....

I think he was picturing the vanagon part he wants to use.
The 914 ones are round, at least the ones I have seen.

Jim - It's been a while since I removed the mounts I had but I think I doubled two nuts against each other and I could then hold one side while working to remove the nut from the opposite side. Hope that helps!

I tried the double nut thing but all I got was a twist of the rubber section until finally it un-bonded from the stud on one end.

Yep, exactly why I'm using the Vanagon part...
