I don't know if anyone else has read this article, but Porsche has stepped up to the plate and is making lite weight replacement batteries from lithium ion.

Sweet idea, but at $1700.00 each that is a steep step up.

The reason for this is the new cars SUCK energy when they are parked.. if we have a Boxster or 996 sit in the parking lot for more than 5 days without being fired up more than likely the battery will be dead.

Porsche offers it, does not make it.
