New, old stock, Bosch vacuum advance unit. The box was sealed and unopened until just a couple of days ago when I opened it to take the picture. The Bosch reference book says it is for a 1974 914 (I hand wrote that on the box). Did not specify 1.8 or 2.0, so I'm assuming it will fit either. Here are the Bosch part numbers from the box;

1 237 121 981
07121

$125 shipped.

Don,

You should look up the part number in the Porsche 914 PET catalog (downloadable from the Porsche website at its Classics Section), to see to which 74 engine it applied. See illustration 901-15 14/(14) & the descriptions & part nos. on the next page, then see if you can cross reference that Bosch # to a PET #.

In the 74 MY they changed to the 1.8L with L-jet (from the D-jet 1.7L), & the 2.0 still had the D-jet, & most L-jet to D-jet parts weren't interchangeable, and that lists shows a different part for the 1.8 & 2.0, as well as an early & late 2.0 version (I presume for the last part # under 14/(14).

If it's a 2.0L & also applies to the early 1973 2.0 D-jet 039 Distributor in my 73 2L, then I'd be interested & I'm local - sorta! biggrin.gif

My cross reference shows the 2.0 D-Jet as 1 237 122 603 for 73-76.

Okay, that won't work for me. sad.gif

However, I'd still try to get a cross reference or other opinion on whthether it's for the 74 1.8L L-jet or 2.0L D-jet for members here looking for this part, as it may get a better response.

Maybe Bosch USA, Pelican or Walter's Porsche can clarify for you? confused24.gif

It took a very long time and *alot* of research just to get what little info I have. As you might notice by the avatar, I work for Pelican. We have an old Bosch book, that's where the application info came from. PET, the Porsche dealer, Google searches, various vendor websites and Bosch websites were all useless. I suspect those Bosch numbers are simply too old.

- okay Glenn, us "old guys" & relatively new to this website BS don't pick up on the Avitar stuff so well - at least I don't with my "half-zymers" sh*t! blink.gif

If anyone would know - you & Pelican would........& you probably don't want to ask the infamous "Dr.George" av-943.gif

Having been around 914's since I got mine in 1975, & freinds' 914s from 70, sometimes I THINK that I know stuff! dry.gif ... just trying to help - not insult nor drive you crazy! laugh.gif

Hey - is there going to be another G&R 914 Swap this Spring, so I can set aside the date now???? confused24.gif confused24.gif

I doubt that mine will be running again by then, but I can bring parts to swap/sell in my 88 Westy - "the box it came in" so to speak! biggrin.gif

Cheers! beerchug.gif

Distributor arm should have 601 for 73 or 603 for 74-76 2.0 Djet. L-Jet should have 981 for early 74 or 995 for 75-76.
a914luvr
Hi Mark, cool! We have a 981 on the arm, so that means? (drum roll please) Wait, lemme guess; 1974 1.8 only?

The next swap meet is tenatively planned for April 25th.

Thanks for all the help with this guys. I had no idea it would draw so much interest! No offense taken at all. I certainly don't want to mis-represent anything.

Glenn, if any turn out to be for an early-73 MY 2.0, then I'd be interested.

Glenn,
They do not appear to be 914.

831 70-72 1.7
917 73 1.7
801 73 2.0
981 E 74 1.8
995 L 74-75 1.8
603 74-76 2.0

Glen, open the boxes and post the number on the arms. Will be alot easier to determine if they are 914 or not. I couldn't find a Porsche-Bosch cross reference number any where.
