This Boxster in the Continental Challenge has a 914 Connection

A Big Surprize, as I was looking for a parking spot, I see a Factory 914-6 that I sold a few months ago sitting in the parking lot. I parked right in front of it. It is being taken to California by one of the race teams that was here in Daytona.

Probably is the last time I will see it in person.

Is the 24 Minute Classic a parade or some actual racing? Will that part be on Speed or anywhere on tv?

Great shots! Daytona does get a lot of great classics before the race. I remember in the 2000-2002 time frame they had 3 917's. Unfortunately no camera, and I did not understand their significance to racing at the time. Enjoy the weekend, the weather looks nice! (at least compared to the snow outside my window)

It is Not a parade, but not actual racing either. The drivers are warned not to screw up. God Forbid they screw up the TV coverage or lay down parts or oil that takes awhile to clean up.

I would think that there will be a clip during the race telecast just for filler

The 24 minutes is one of the highlights of the race. They used to park the cars
in the infield near the stands after the parade and you could talk to the drivers
and get right up to the cars. I stood right next to a Ferrari 333SP one year as they
fired it up to go back to the garage.

A great track for spectating.

I am not going this year as I am saving every penny to complete the GT clone . But I'll watch on Speed. My dark horse pick in GT is Alex Job they are a good local team. Rain will make the Nascrap drivers really have to drive ! And go Brumos .

The Southern boys will get to see some real racing this weekend at Daytona, not the glorified demolition derby NASCAR bull shit. Sorry boys, no bump drafting here, these guys are professionals not some one's cousin that can drive fast.
