Is anybody using one of these magnaspark 2 ditributors on there 914 http://www.cbperformance.com/catalog.asp?ProductID=432 or petronix http://www.cbperformance.com/catalog.asp?ProductID=1477
I am wanting to get rid of the bosch 009, which i have on my 2056cc Twin carbed motor and have been looking at the petronix billet flamethrower dizzy or this magnaspark2 or should i just keep saving money for a mallory unilite dizzy.

Did some reading on it, the only problems people have had is the coil with it, but that seems to be few. Just don't know if it will fit. It has an adjustable advance on it as well as being able to lock down the advance. Thats what i need for the MS to run timing.

Both of these could work , of course they are curved for the Type 1 engine. If you could get them recurved / or as they are for the Type 4, it is possible. Also you have to make sure that the oil presure sender doesn't interfer with the dizzy , and will it butt up against the engine tin and prevent rotation. As of some recent reading of threads , Jake no longer likes the IIRC the Mallory distributor. Do some searches , the thread may come up , or he may chime in confused24.gif . Get the dimensions of it and check your clearances . Good luck.......
