Whats the scoop with these? I have both early and late in hand. What I know. The casting number is the same on both early and late 039.101.371.A. There is an air injection port in the exhaust that looks like it is machined after casting in the late head. The boss for the vent tube is present but not machined.

'75-'76 holes
Holes just suck air for emissions. Weld/plug 'em for early. Tubes just stick in.
Probably didn't answer your question, but.........
BTW - they both have the same OE numbers and the set I have are threaded either - guess to much Bier
when they machined them.
