Kind of kool....
driving along the main road parallel to the runway....paced air force 1 landing....kicked my ass....
But if I was in the 914 2.6l
man a 747 is big on a little runway...
Oh yes, Manchester NH..

He was in Orlando this past Sunday. I think he was having lunch with his pal Qarl!
I was passing through on my way back from Sebring.

I saw the plane landing. I happened to be at Cracker Barrel near the airport and saw this m-f-ing big 747 come down with the Air Force One paint job on it.
I didn't see any escorts. But it was interesting to see...
I waived....
Ooops! Just kiddding. I didn't really do that... I sorta stared in awe. Pretty neat to think ole George was about a mile away!

I just want to know the cost of all the police....everywhere...must have been at least 100 at every entrance to every shopping center.
then you have the state boys at every road overlooking the runway.
Then the secret service...they came in yesterday in a large cargo plane..
It is very impressive to watch that big plane land....any 747, this one really gives you a lump in your throat...doesn't matter who is on it..
your politics may vary.....

I have been on board.... I was attached to Marine One (His Helo squadron) back in the early clinton days..
One of the MPs hooked me up with a shot glass off of it, rather sweet!

Better watch out....posting info on the AF1 location will prolly cause the boys in the black suits to pay ya a visit....better have your identity papers, loyalty background investigation results and blood test results handy....
Can you say CAVITY SEARCH.....

Big deal. I work at Moffett Field, which is were AF1 usually lands when Someone wants to visit the Bay Area. During the latter half of the Clinton years, I think it was parked out there something like one a month! (Remember, Chelsea was a Stanford student.)
It was always amusing driving my loud little 914 past all of the extra rent-a-cops on base...

There was a good "Modern Marvels" episode on the History channel last week, all about the history of Air Force 1.

even better than watching the plane land....
watching it take off. From the roof of my plant, I have an unrestricted view of the runway. I could watch the plane taxi, stop and take off. What a rooster tail!! The runway was wet...747's kick up a lot of spray.
The state police helicopter was keeping an eye on us....it went by several times...
My plant is in the approach path, with a 55' height restriction..so lots of fun..
Even better is the C-5 that came in 10 minutes later to get the cars and trucks...
pretty cool for a 7000' runway. For large planes, they got up quick. launched right over our heads, about 200' to the side...
I think that I saw George wave....

the necessary lottery winning is not to afford your engine, jake. it is to make way for other priorities. kids keep whining about food, can you believe it? i tell 'em that goig barefoot is cool, and that it builds character.
say, did you ever fly out west, or only with Marine One?

During the G5 summit near Calgary I was about to tee off on a nice straight fairway that had trees on both sides. We heard a noise and air force one flew right over the far end of the fairway followed by 2 military jets. It had just taken off from the nearby airport. That is one impressive looking airplane. Stopped us all in our tracks. Wish I had a camera. Would have made one hell of a picture.
