Full Version: suspension gasket

i am waiting for AA to send 2 gaskets for my front suspension (#22 ). they need to come from germany and will take at least two weeks. is there a substitute gasket available ? these 2 little monsters are all that is standing between me and finishing the car ...for now

Hmm, well I have two of them in storage in upstate.

If you can wait until after 2/27 (which is the next trip up there) we can get you mine.

They are just little closed cell foam washers, nothing special.

Probably they are some kind of foam composition very simple just a circle with a circle in the middle. Maybe cut them from a plastic sponge

Yes, I agree George,

They apparently are there to keep in the grease and keep out the road dirt, but they are not a tight fit.

You could certainly make one that would work.

I just bought these from Pelican two weeks ago, had them in my hands 2 days after purchase. They have them in stock, cheap.

Rubber washers from the hardware store...use a razor knife to cut the inner hole to size....simple.
