What are the differences in the mat for 70-72 and later models? I notice there are different part numbers.

Other than concours are they interchangeable?

I should clarify - the rubber mat not the carpet. Did the early cars even have these? Maybe fitment difference is for the jack location?

rear carpet 70- dec 31st 71 flat uniform across the front.
jan 1 1972- 12/75 flat but with bump in the front left for the jack not uniform across the front.

My 6 has a 2 piece.

It is coming back to me now - I do remember that litle pad and I am sure it is stored with the boxes of parts waiting for the car to come back from paint. Was the front pad a similar material?

Were the later cars a heavy black material - similar to the engine compartment pad?

No the front was just the board covered with carpet.
