Since my chassis has twisted and me probably not having the ability to fix it, i have tossed around the idea of buying a good shell or just buying a nice 914 and being done with it. I found this on CG, i think his shifter bushings need to be replaced

That looks like a POS. I think it is $2000 over priced. If it is a sportomatic, maybe I'd pay that much. The bumper was shiny though...

the original 914 Sportomatic has to be 4-speed (type 914/05)
but there was a later 911 Sportomatic version (1975+) that was only 3-speed - (type 925/10)

I owned a '73 911T with a sportomatic which was a 4 speed.....I'm sure the few 914's with the sporto was the same 4 speed.....

The sporto 914s were all sixes. There was only one prototype 4 built with a sportomatic, but never sold. It was decided that a 1.7L engine hooked to a sporto was too much of a dog even for a 914.

And all of the sporto 914s were 4 speeds.

If he found there was a fourth and fifth in the tranny maybe he wouldnt sale the car .and he could get up to freeway speeds

Or never figured out the dog leg and down to first. or maybe the 4-5 is out of reach because of failed bushings
