Helios alerted me the other day that the www.tirerack.com has Koni Yellows on sale right now for $158 each for fronts and $179 each for the rears. I checked it out today and ordered fronts. The fronts are less than Bilsteins!! FYI. . .

If someone is looking, I have a pair of 911 Koni front strut housings with 3 & 1/2 inch spacing ( For the calipers) that were refurbished by Eric Shea

Would these be bolt on for a /4?
Would the fronts still work if I went 5 lug in the near future?

Yes, they are a bolt on for the /4. However if you do bolt these up, you will find that you will go to a 5 lug sooner than expected. There are differences with the /4 vs. 911 spindles.

Are the Koni front inserts a direct fit replacement, or do they require some modifications? My car is a '73 with Boge strut housings. I thought I read a thread about the Koni valving adjuster screws stuck up so far they hit the inner front trunk hood.

I have had the Koni adjustables on the front of 3 of my four past 914s with no hood interference and the adjuster...
I am also going to be installing a set on the front of my current '75 build...so that will be 4 of 5 with Konis and no issues.

So I have boge strut housings with what looks to be the original boge cartrige. I just pulled the trigger on some new Koni adjustables for the front, but my question is do I need to buy new screw in caps for the strut? Or will my old onew work with the Koni's?
