I'm starting to think about selling my '72 914-6. Vin#9142430078 The plates from the original French owner are still on the car. Don't drive it enough to keep it. And as the video will show getting in and out of the car is getting to be a problem.

I've had the car for almost 2 years and put on maybe a 900 miles. Some details.

This is a beautiful 914-6 factory car, not a conversion. Originally delivered to France in 1971 as a 1972 model year. Over the years the previsous owner has done every upgrade imaginable without butchering a great classic. The motor is a 3.6 ltr with MSW injection and Haltech management. A high performance clutch connects the 350 HP motor to a 915 gearbox equipped with a Quafe limited slip differential. Headers flow exhaust through SST phase 9 race mufflers. A quieter street muffler comes with it. This rocket ship is slowed with turbo front brakes and Carrera cross drilled discs at the rear. The car comes with OEM Fuchs 7 & 8 x15, Koni adjustable shocks, 23mm torsion bars, plastic bushings. This car has hardly been driven so no need to worry about it being used up or abused. The answer is around the mid 30's for the price.
About the road block it was on my mind on this stretch of Mulholland in Southern CA to finally get out of third and let folks hear the car in 4th and possibly 5th and to show that it pulls as hard in the top gears as well. But for some unknown reason and thank God I decided against it, I slowed down just prior to the CHP road block. The only thing changed on the video what the Holy Sh.... remark I yelled out coming around the bend. kd

Wow, I wish I had the $ for this. A '72 I would think will eventually be worth the most when it comes to these cars in the future. That's just me though.

I'm 2 cylinders short of a picnic now after watching your video. Some car Karl. I'm sure the next owner will be grinning ear to ear when they get behind the wheel. Good luck with your sale.

I love it...so many folks get worried about bastardizing these cars...I think this little bastard looks fantastic...has one nasty motor and is a real sleeper with the narrow body. All the best with the sale...someone is going to get one helluva nice -6 !!

Shouldn't an original -6 have the ignition key on the left? Or was this a difference between US and European markets?

I thought 72 it was moved to the column.

Tod is correct; as the last ones rolled off the line some of the 6's had the column ignition. Probably just ran out of the original parts and it was easier to grab from VW.

Love the car BTW!! Too bad I don't have room for another.
