are 911 struts a direct fit on a 914 if you are not changing the a-arms, t-bars, etc?

I remember reading something about the arc/angle of the steering arm on the strut being different.

1) yes. make sure your ball joints are compatible.

2) that's true - but since the tie rods are the same, they can be adjusted to compensate for the difference in location of the tie rod end. you can't assume you won't have to change the alignment - the toe will be SIGNIFICANTLY different...
