Hey all,
Had the engine tin removed a LONG time ago and had it powder coated. Now I'm wanting to put it all back together and a couple issues I'm having are:
1. I either lost or threw away a number of the small screws that held the tin together as they were rusty or missing already. I remember seeing a stainless kit somewhere for this, but can't seem to find it anymore.
2. I don't remember a THING about how this all went together. Is there a detailed diagram that shows all the screw placements on the tin and the way the tin overlaps and connects? (I have the bentley, but I'm at work at the moment and can't look it up)
Any other things to check or do before putting the tin back on?
Thanks guys
Mark Henry

The placement order is pretty self explanatory once you start the job. the cheese head screws can be found at major hardware suppliers and several guys on thesamba sell kits.
This was the first one I found on a samba search.

AA, Pelican both have stainless tin screw sets prices about the same.
Or, just take one to True Value and match it with something there. Easy.

I went down to a local fastener shop and bought 50 6mm stainless allen-head screws, with washers, and 25 8mm with washers. total cost was under $20 and I got rid of the damned flat head screws

That 914Rubber link is Mikey914 (Mark) on 914world vendors & he sells a full set in SS. You'll get a "better than public price" from him on the screw set & rubber seals, etc. from him by ordering via this 914w site.
IIRC - the sets which George sells are chrome plated - not - SS - but that's another set. Both are around $20-ish.

6mm cheese head (not flat head) is the small tin screw (cooling tins). 8mm would be the larger stuff like intate and exhaust studs, case havf bolts, grounds on body near battery
